FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Any member in good standing of an approved rodeo association, can enter LRA rodeos in Saddle Bronc, Bareback and Steer wrestling. When a committee requests a performance to be filled with ten contestants in Saddle Bronc, Bareback and Steer Wrestling. In the Steer Wrestling an additional 10 contestants will be drawn into the slack performance if needed. LRA and co-sanctioned members will have priority, over non-members. Then other contestant will be drawn in to fill the available spots. Contestants can ask for a preference or out. These contestants do not count for any finals standing or year end awards.

EXAMPLE:

If it is a three-performance rodeo and a committee is requesting 10 contestants per performance in bareback, saddle bronc and steer wrestling events,  should only 25 LRA or co sanctioned members have entered, only then would 5 other contestants be drawn in to fill the performances of the rodeo, with the exception of the steer wrestling an additional 15 contestants will be drawn in to include 10 contestants in the slack performance

LRA members and co sanctioned members will been given priority over NON members.

In Saddle bronc and Bareback in rodeos that have $1000 or less have an option to enter saddle bronc or bareback twice. The contestant then would be required to pay two entry fees. All money won counts towards the standings. When entering on Mondays the contestants can enter once or twice. After entries are completed, the discussion will be made on the number of contestant to determine whether one or two head will be needed. Contestant may enter on one head each day, or two head in one day. (Example if John Doe rides 2 horses he can place 1st and 2nd, No average)

Rule Change:
. A vet release can only be used by a Ladies Barrel Racing contestants. The contestants have the option of using three (3) five (5) day or an unlimited number of ten (10) day vet releases in a rodeo season. Once the contestant has used her three (3) five (5) day vet releases she will automatically be on a ten (10) day release. The vet release ineligibility period will begin on the first rodeo performance or slack that the contestant is scheduled to perform in. Any rodeo that falls within the ineligibility period will automatically be included in the release.
